🌍 Afri Lit Club
Spurring a love of reading—building confident readers, thinkers, and creators.
Afri Lit Club is a literacy community dedicated to helping children develop a genuine love for reading while strengthening reading comprehension, vocabulary, critical thinking, and creativity.
In a world dominated by screens, we create intentional spaces where children reconnect with books, language, and imagination—moving from passive consumption to active thinking and creative expression.
🌱 Our Story
AFRIit is born out of the success of Young Readers Library, a social enterprise in Nigeria that has existed for over five years and has impacted 1,500+ children through reading initiatives and literacy programs.
Building on this proven foundation, AFRIit was established as a global channel to expand literacy impact beyond one location—supporting children, families, and communities through structured programs, partnerships, and storytelling initiatives.
🎯 Our Mission
To spur a love of reading while improving reading comprehension, vocabulary, critical thinking, and creativity—equipping children to become confident readers, thoughtful thinkers, and expressive storytellers.

🌱 What’s Ahead
Afri Lit Club is just getting started. As the community grows, additional programs will be introduced to support children at different stages of their literacy journey—building on the same commitment to reading, vocabulary, critical thinking, and creativity.
🧠How We Teach
Afri Lit Club programs are delivered through a hybrid learning model, combining in-person and online sessions to support children’s reading, vocabulary, critical thinking, and creativity.
Our approach is intentional. Whether meeting in person or online, sessions are designed to be interactive, engaging, and focused on books—not passive screen time. We prioritise discussion, reading, writing, and creative expression over long screen exposure.
Online sessions are purposeful and guided, allowing children to:
Read and discuss stories together
Build vocabulary and comprehension skills
Participate in writing and word activities
Stay connected when in-person attendance isn’t possible
This flexible model allows Afri Lit Club to meet families where they are—while maintaining our commitment to meaningful, child-centred literacy experiences.
👨‍👩‍👧 A Note to Parents
We are intentional about starting strong. These launch programs reflect Afri Lit Club’s core values and long-term vision—to nurture confident readers and expressive thinkers from the very beginning.
